About Launch Day Notes

Launch Day Notes is an independent guide for people heading to rocketry launch weekends. It covers the practical side of a long day on an open field: what to bring, what to wear and how to handle the heat.

Who runs this site

The editors of Launch Day Notes write and update these pages. We are not a club, an association or a launch organizer, and we don't run or sell anything at any launch.

About this address

This address used to hold a one-page site about the LDRS 44 launch, a Tripoli Rocketry Association event. That page is gone. This site is not the LDRS event site, has no connection with the Tripoli Rocketry Association or any club, and has no event dates, schedules or registration. For official information about LDRS, go to the association directly at tripoli.org.

Why there is a skin guide on every page

Long launch days mean hours in hats, helmets and chin straps. Many of us know the breakouts that follow. Each guide page therefore includes a full guide about chin breakouts, reproduced from acneonchin.com. It is general information, not medical advice.

Rocketry safety

We don't write safety rules. Follow the safety code and the range safety officer of the club running the launch.
